Becoming a Rotary Club member two years ago was a way to honor my father’s work as a Rotarian and was one of the best life decisions I made, as I now experience the huge impact our Rotary Club has had not only in our local community but with international projects. On May 18th, Rotary Clubs like mine will organize, fund, and serve on projects for 750 communities across 10 states called the EPIC Day of Service. My Club, the Smoky Hill Rotary Club of Aurora, has chosen to support, in conjunction with Aurora Fire Rescue, an endeavor to raise funds to purchase a Mobile Fire Education trailer to be used for fire safety education in schools and the community. The safety trailer will be a mobile version of a private house, complete with furnishings, and can be infused with theatrical smoke to simulate real-life fire conditions. Our community’s fire departments have experienced decreased funding and are in need of this important live-saving tool. Please join me by making a donation to support this worthwhile project through the Smoky Hill Rotary Club.
