I'm a member of Denver Southeast Rotary Club. Our club actively supports International and Community Service Projects with both financial and personal volunteer efforts. We give $120,000 a year, raised by club members, to support projects such as Mobile Food Markets, Battered Woman's Shelters, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene(WASH) projects across the globe and Literacy projects in Guatemala, just to name a few.
This year we are fund raising around an EPIC Day of Service. Clubs across the U.S. will be volunteering on May 18 at various projects. I will be at Project Cure. They divert surplus medical equipment and supplies that are destined for landfills and ship them to places around the world to impoverished and war torn area. We will be sorting supplies and packing containers on May 18. Our club supported a container going to Ukraine earlier this year with a $5000 donatoin.
