Hello Family, Friends, Colleagues and Network Collaborators,
I am writing you all today to request your action! After all, Rotarians are people of action. This is my first attempt at fund-raising to support a EXCEPTIONAL cause. I will be participating in an upcoming Epic Day of Service with thousands of fellow Rotarians across Colorado and Wyoming to create meaningful change in our communities. Specifically, I will be volunteering for an Epic Recycling Event where my club and I will be collecting up to 100,000 pounds in paint and electronics that would otherwise end up in landfills or collecting dust in basements!
However, this is only part of my story. The important part of my story is why I’m a Rotarian. This is easy for me to answer. I learned it from the best…my mom. As a young man, I was able to see my mom create meaningful change in our community as a Rotary President in Fargo, ND. She was incredible, yet I never fully understood her passion and commitment until I became involved myself. In the past three years, I’ve personally experienced the impact we create in lives across Parker, CO, Douglas County, and even internationally. Some of my fondest memories are dressing up as Santa and delivering presents to residents in hospitals and facilities across Douglas County. Other memories include the countless food drives I’ve participated in with my children Connor and Elsie while teaching them about food insecurity and the impact it has on families and children. Needless to say, Rotary has been a Godsend for my family and me. It helps me connect, it helps me thrive, it helps me be a better human. Please help support me and my community by contributing. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about Rotary please reach out. I would love to host you as a guest at an upcoming meeting. We meet every Wednesday at the Douglas County library in Parker, CO from 11:30 to 12:45. Attached is a flyer for our upcoming EPIC Recycling Event. Please add it to your calendar!
IMAGINE...A WORLD WITHOUT ROTARY.
... a father watching over his sleeping child in long-term hospital care - a child with few chances to laugh and be a kid.
.... a mother in Ukraine hearing another air-raid siren - not knowing where the drones will hit, helpless to protect her family.
... a disheveled, shuffling veteran - PTSD makes it tough to cope with life, keep a job, find food or housing, or hold out hope.
These are not imaginary people. They're real human beings in need of help. They could be us if not for our good fortune.
Rotarians give back... by bringing smiles to seriously ill children, funding relief efforts in war and disaster zones, and furnishing housing for homeless veterans. Our 1.3 million members in 30,000 clubs worldwide do over 200,000 projects in our communities every year, volunteering 47 million hours annually and funding most service ourselves.
You can give confidently and effectively. Rotary earns Charity Navigator's top rating every year. After the credit card processor's fee, 99% of your contribution goes to service.
